Punchbowl Coastal Reserve
After a chilly and pretty unrewarding wander through the desalination plant wetlands at Wonthaggi on Friday, Dave and I called into the Punchbowl Coastal Reserve at San Remo on the way home.
The George Bass Coastal Walk starts here and the cliff-top scenery had us clicking away despite the rather dull light conditions.
It doesn't seem to matter how unrewarding a day has been, there nearly always seems to be an event that makes the day worthwhile. This day, it was a flock of 50+ Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos wheeling in to feast on one particular Coastal Banksia in the distance.
