Gardivalia #1

Irene’s garden, Gumview in Darnum, has over forty different peonies with many magnolias, maples, camellias and hellebores. Flowering bulbs including galanthus, cyclamen hederafolium planted over large areas, and a large clivia collection.

Dalene and Wayne’s Kiah garden is on a town block in Drouin. Consisting mostly of natives it is adorned with found objects and minor garden ornaments and there is a chook palace!

It wasn’t hard to wander and enjoy the woodlands at Sue and Dave’s Gables Garden just out of Warragul. Planted with maples, oaks and other trees it also has roses, bulbs and waratahs and included a nesting pair of Blue Wrens outside the kitchen window!

Elizabeth’s small Witham Garden in Yarragon was an example of how to fit a stunning cottage garden on a town block. It featured meandering paths with innovative archways. No parking on the nature strip either.

The REstore Permaculture Garden designed and created by community volunteers in Yarragon has loads of ideas for healthy garden plants.

Whispering Boulders at Neerim North is Mariola and David’s retreat of glorious views, forest tracks, sweeping lawns, native plants, fruit trees, ponds, sculptures, fun and more - even a golf green.

Olwyn and Manfred’s garden, Tall Timbers at Piedmont is a natural bush setting with additional plantings of many exotic trees and shrubs around water features such as a creek, cascade and ponds. Wow, I was instantly reminded of Claude Monet!
