The robins on the golf course are becoming tamer as each day passes. Yesterday they were catching their breakfast within just a few metres of me as I sat quietly on my usual log. I’m becoming more and more convinced that they are as interested in me as I am of them.
As we uttered comforting words to one another – I like to think - we were rudely interrupted by a small flock of Sittellas. They just breezed in and scurried down the trunks and branches of the nearby trees, probing constantly under the bark for some small morsel.
As usual they didn’t stay long. I just managed a couple of quick shots of a couple that sat still long enough for the camera to focus, then they were gone as quickly as they arrived. I did a bit of quick in-camera editing, (deleted all the shots of vacant twigs, a blur of wings or a pair of feet rapidly exiting the frame), and headed for the machinery shed.
Just love starting the day like that!
